Our client, located in Princeton, NJ is seeking a Senior Active Directory Engineer for an immediate contract position. Microsoft Certifications are required. Details include:
Support large, complex Active Directory and Exchange upgrade projects. Evaluate business and technical requirements and constraints and assist developing an optimal design. Provide hands-on configuration and validation of design, as well as production deployment and migration. Be able to document design, configuration and project results. Provide knowledge transfer to technical staff. Requires advanced domain expertise, capable of designing and deploying complex solutions. Individual has a mix of advanced technology and practical, operational acumen. The role requires both broad and deep technology knowledge. The individual should possess a strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems from Windows NT through Windows 2008; heavy Active Directory 2003, Directory Services, DNS, WINS, and DCHP knowledge necessary. Demonstrated ability to engage in senior level technology decision maker discussions related to agility, business value. This role manages the complete lifecycle of large and complex projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:
-Provide high level operational support
-Strong Group Policy experience. Ability to come in and do high level analysis and provide consistency across all sites
-Improve the management, monitoring, and performance of existing Exchange 5.5, A/D 2003 and DNS (Windows & unix Bind) infrastructure
-Make sure products are installed, and configured correctly
-Management and timely resolution of help desk tickets
-Creation of operations standards and processes
-Training and mentoring to develop team members
-Fast learner that adapts well to changes
-Works well under pressure
-Provide technical expertise and strategic direction for solutions, including oversight for all associated resources, including contractors and/or vendors
-Project/Portfolio management to ensure alignment to technology roadmap and departmental goals and objectives. Build capabilities to be flexible and scalable enough to meet current needs and potential growth opportunities
-Proficiency in related messaging technologies and related Microsoft technologies including but not limited to Sharepoint, Office Communicator and telephony
-Day-to-day Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory administration
-Strong understanding of configuring and supporting Microsoft Windows OS technology including AD forests, domains, trusts, DHCP, DNS, group policy, ADSI, and DFS as it relates to Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 2003 and Windows 2008
-Must understand all aspects of an enterprise DNS system, including split of zones across Internet & Intranet domains, multiple SoAs and cross-platform (Windows & unix) DNS implementations
-Must have a solid understanding and experience implementing Microsoft security concepts as well as establishing a monitoring platform for AD health
-5+ year of Windows Active Directory and MS Exchange infrastructure support experience in an enterprise environment with at least 10,000 + users
-Experience implementing and supporting a Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure including Microsoft DNS and Group Policy
-Advanced knowledge and application of Microsoft Exchange 5.5, 2003 and 2007
-Ensure successful day to day operations of MS Exchange and related messaging technologies, including timely response to incidents and elimination of major repeats, budget/financial management and vendor management
-Needs to have a strong understanding of SMTP email flow and related transport/DNS configuration
-Preference will be given to candidates that have scripting experience for automation and administration using standard technologies such as Batch, VBS, VB, .NET, Perl, and shell
-Extensive knowledge and experience with DNS, DNSSEC, and BIND
-Extensive experience with Unix and MS Windows
-General knowledge of network and host security.
-Windows server hardware and software troubleshooting skills
-Must demonstrate ability to perform and respond well in crisis situations
-Effective oral and written communication skills
-Ability to work independently and effectively cooperatively with others
