Key Purpose/Objective of Role:

 

Support  & maintain IT infrastructure, namely servers, Microsoft Systems, network, & network applications within the US infrastructure Assist with supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure overseas for “out-of-hours” support, primarily with UK afterhours. Provide Tier 3 support to IT Helpdesk for ticket escalation Ensure ISO & security procedures maintained Ensure Business Continuity plans are followed

Key Responsibilities:

 

Role Manage day-to-day operation and troubleshooting for global Active Directory forest Primary technical support of network servers, primarily Windows 2003/2008 Management and monitoring Exchange e-mail system Monitoring SQL server performance and providing server level support to DBAs Monitoring and troubleshooting of IIS web services Provide next tier support to Helpdesk for support ticket escalation Preform regular maintenance on systems Server performance & resource monitoring Evaluate systems and provide recommendation and priority for upgrades Update and maintain system documentation VPN & Remote Worker server support Server hardware support Support WAN/LAN infrastructure at all locations Ensure Business Continuity practices are followed Ensure security scans are completed and vulnerabilities promptly rectified

·        Fulfilling all requirements of the Standard Company Operating Procedures (SCOPe)

·        Maintain systems at a level fulfilling all requirements of the ISO9000

·        Proactively initiating continual improvement

·        Documentation & procedures for ISO27001

 

Skills and Experience Required:

 

3+ years work experience with system/infrastructure support (5+ preferred) Proven technical knowledge of Windows 2003/2008 servers Proven technical knowledge of Active Directory, Forest and Child Domains, Trusts Proven technical knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2010 Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL, ISA & IIS servers Proven technical knowledge of Windows XP & MS Office products Proven technical knowledge of desktop and server hardware Knowledge of network infrastructure, Understanding of Virtual LANs, OSI Model, IPSec and SSL VPNs Thorough  knowledge and understanding of virtualization technologies, VMWare Advanced knowledge of backup procedures and software, Disk-to-Disk and Disk-to-Tape Knowledge and understanding of management protocols. SNMP, WMI Knowledge of SAN and Disk technologies.  RAID, LUN Experience with hardware upgrades and troubleshooting hardware Issues Experience with implementation & upgrade of 3rd party applications Detail oriented with good documentation skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
